One year passed. Your mom was going successfully through her studies. Your father was still in the military. He got a few days off and prepared something special for your mother. It was a year and a half of their relationship. She wrote him letters as much as she could. He read all of them and wrote back.

He came to her campus with a bouquet of red roses. He went to her room. When she opened the door, she was surprised to see him. She didn’t know anything.

“I am glad to see you,” he smiled at her and hugged her tightly. He kissed her.

“I missed you so much,” she said between sobs.

They got coffee and talked about their year and how they spent it. He then took her to the park when he asked her if she would be his girlfriend. They sat on the bench and looked at the lake. They were silent for a few minutes, but then he looked at her and stood up. She was confused and watched him.

“I wanted to tell you something. This place is so memorable for us that I couldn’t think of any better place than this.”

He went down on his knee, took out a box with a silver ring and looked at her smiling.

“Y/M/N, will you marry me?”

(Y/M/N = your mother’s name)

She started crying again. She couldn’t talk. She thought about this day, even when he left for his service. She just nodded; words weren’t enough for her.

“Of course, I will,” she said in the end when he hugged her after response and kissed her deeply.

“I love you so much,” he whispered.

“I love you the same,” she sniffled.

You can guess what happened next. After he finished his service and got home, they had a wedding. Your mom completed her studies. They got their own house. Then came a baby. A cheerful, happy, beautiful daughter. They had everything they dreamt about.

From now on, it will be my story. The story about my life. About my strange dreams and friendship which blossomed from them. And I can’t forget love. This is my life.
